Class of 2008

Alyson Cooper is getting her Masters in Public Health at Boston University, conducting the Youth Risk Behavior Survey with the Center for Disease Control and working as a Wellness Specialist for PlusOne corporate wellness sites. She is also tutoring math at underperforming Boston Public Schools with Tutors for All.

Katie Conroy is in the 5 year WFU accounting program.  She also has a job in Charlotte next year with a public accounting firm, Deloitte.

Maggie Campbell moved to Charleston, SC shortly after graduating with a double major in Studio Art and Psychology.  After working as a graphic designer at a web and marketing firm, she decided to start her own graphic design firm, Maggie Campbell Design.  She now assists companies around the country with developing corporate brand identities, printed materials, and web presences.  

Ashley Jones is in the 5 year WFU accounting program.

Sarah Ellen Hooker is currently working at an apartment complex in Durham, NC with a company called PRG Real Estate as a marketing director

Shelley Applegate is an MSA (Masters of Science in Accountancy) student now at Wake and she will be working for Ersnt and Young in the fall as a Tax accountant.

Landon Lacey has been working as a volunteer in an AIDS orphanage in Chiang Mai, Thailand and is also a teacher in Chiang Mai.  She is teaching English as a paid job and on the side she is working as a volunteer teaching prostitutes and street kids English to help them find better jobs.

Amber Egbert is a Teach For America teacher in Houston, TX.  She teaches a bilingual 4th grade class.

Tara Stratton is in Washington, DC working for a lobbying firm. She does research for the travel and tourism practice and helps out in the transportation and defense practices when she can. She hopes to continue her education at Rice University in Houston, Texas.

Brook Matthews is teaching middle school in Greenville, South Carolina at Greenville Middle School, where she won the Golden Apple Award for the Upstate of South Carolina. She is also working on her masters in TESOL (Teach English to Speakers of Another Language) at Furman University

Amanda Armistead lives in Arlington, VA (with fellow DZ alum Kara Redding) and works for Gephardt Group Government Affairs in DC. She spends her days researching, writing reports, tracking legislation and watching congressional hearings. She has gotten to meet a lot of politicians, including the CEO of her company, Dick Gephardt, who was the Majority Leader in the House of Representatives. She loves living in DC!

Jenny Hagan is currently living in New York City and working at an online company called eClick Interactive as the Director of Corporate Strategy.  They have a lot of sites, but their main ones are New Faces, an online portfolio and casting site for models and actors, and HILARY magazine, an online women's magazine.  For New Faces, she works on overall strategy, building partnerships, writing contracts and marketing.  For HILARY magazine, she write contributing articles for the travel section.

Class of 2007

Kelly Knight spent a year in Spain teaching English to kids and then returned to the US and got her real estate license. She decided that she still liked teaching too much to give it up and is now teaching English as a Second Language. She is in charge of the entire ESL high school program in Yadkin County, NC.

Katie Farrar lives in Linz, Austria. She is on a Fulbright grant teaching English to high school age Austrian students. She will be there until June 2010 and is looking forward to where the future will take her!

Taylor Sparks, former VP of New Member Education and Regional Senior of the Year, graduated summa cum laude. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. Her research focuses broadly on leadership and organizational development; however, she is particularly interested in women occupying executive level leadership positions within their organizations. Although she sometimes cheers for the UGA Dawgs, Tayor is still a fan of the Demon Deacons at heart!

Laura Nelson is enrolled at Florida State University to get her MBA. She worked as a graduate assistant for the soccer and softball teams. She will be graduating with her MBA and a specialization in sports management in May and is then headed to Portland, Oregon for a summer internship with Nike.

Rachel Waters is a JD/MBA student at Wake. She also works at a law firm in town called Wells Jenkins Lucas & Jenkins. She is an Albert Schweitzer Fellow finalist for a community organization that she is starting in Winston called CAP (College Admission Project). It is a group that pairs young professionals with at-risk high school students to guide them through the process of applying to and eventually matriculating into college.

Erika Linthicum spent 5 weeks traveling around Europe with Wake's
“EuroTour” after graduating with a BA in business. They visited cities such as Prague, Venice, Paris, Copenhagen, Florence, London, and Amsterdam. She then moved to Greensboro, NC in August 2007 where she currently resides. She assists four CFPs and two retirement plan specialists at Compass Financial Partners in Greensboro (a small financial planning firm.)

Julie Papczynski works for Sofft Shoe Company as an Account Representative.

Class of 2006

Erin Dreyer is currently completing her internship in NC for her 3rd year of graduate school in School Psychology at the University of Kentucky. In May, she will obtain her Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology and will hopefully be in the real working world this fall!

Johanna Blue is now a nurse in pediatrics and works on the Children's Intermediate Cardiac Care unit at the NC Children's Hospital.

Jessica Meister is a second year at Notre Dame Law School and has spent the past year working at a Legal Aid Clinic and conducting research in various areas of elder law. She is working at the US Attorney's office this summer, working mostly in criminal prosecution.

Class of 2005

Jane Claire Jacobi has attended NY Fashion Week at Bryant Park twice as a part of her first job with Hanes Brand. She spent time in Mexico and is now working in Recruiting at Bank of America. She is a member of Junior League of Charlotte and has been married for almost 4 years now!
